8:15pm - 10:00pm
$40 in advance, $50 day of

Gentle yet powerfully therapeutic, Restorative Yoga centers the mind and body to facilitate the healing of dis-ease caused by stress or injury. You will be guided through a series of supported asanas, with special emphasis on breathwork. Each pose supports proper bone alignment while releasing muscular tension. Personalized adjustments by Shanna also help participants achieve maximum benefits. The ancient practice of Mudras - hand gestures which help channel energy into the subtle states of our minds - are also explored. You will leave this workshop feeling revitalized and reunited with one's true nature, which is to be one with all beings.
About Shanna Lee: Full of love, Shanna's classes (Beginner Vinyasana and Open) are an exploration into the mind/body connection that originally led her to yoga. Shying away from predictability, she is adept at accessing and addressing the specific needs of each practitioner ? making even an open class feel like a private session. Whether dissecting pre-asana chants to reveal their deeper meaning or repeatedly demonstrating poses, she maintains a deep connection to her students throughout their practice. She also utilizes music and inspirational messages from around the world to further enable her students to recognize the divine spirit within.
Seeking a way for the injured and those battling dis-ease to experience yoga, Shanna recently developed a Restorative Yoga workshop ? the first of its kind for Jivamukti and many other centers where she teaches it throughout the New York City area. Through the use of supported asanas, mudras (hand gestures which help channel energy into the subtle states of our minds) and personalized adjustments, this gentile yet therapeutic practice centers the mind and body to facilitate healing.
Through yoga, Shanna has been able to tune into the inner vibration of life and the love she feels in her heart for all beings. She is devoted to serving others and offering the same love to all in which she has been so blessed to experience in life.
