Yoga can be a wonderful way to look after yourself after the birth of your baby. It brings a sense of well-being and equilibrium, alleviates tiredness, aches and pains, maintains good posture, and reminds you to relax. It is perfectly natural for you, as a new mother, to devote most of your energy to caring for your new baby and this can leave you feeling drained and overwhelmed at times.

This workshop aims to regenerate your flagging energy and provide time for you to nurture yourself. We practice mindful breathing with yoga positions that gently stretch and rebalance the body, undo tension, and combat fatigue. Special attention is paid to retoning muscles of the abdomen and pelvic floor. Specific exercises can help to strengthen the lower back and release accumulated tension in the shoulders and upper back, caused from so much holding, nursing and carrying.

It takes approximately six months for your body to fully recover from pregnancy and childbirth. During this time you need to be careful how you exercise. These classes are designed specifically for the postnatal months to help your body to regain strength and tone in a safe and effective way.
