In 1992 he began studying an Iyengar-influenced style of practice with Michael Gilbert. Over the years, David has taken classes, workshops and teacher trainings with a wide variety of teachers from varied backgrounds. The emphasis of David's yoga studies has been styles derived from the life work of Sri Krishnamacharya. Currently, he studies Asana, Sanskrit and philosophy with a number of instructors including: Manju Jois, Christopher Hildebrandt, V. Sheshadri, Dr. V. Nagaraj and others, both in the west and on his frequent journeys to India. His approach is dynamic and creative -- encouraging the potential for deep insight and breakthrough experiences. David is devoted to the development of the art and science of Vinyassa Yoga. David is also a classically trained artist who exhibits and teaches figure drawing and anatomy.
