Cari Friedman

Cari was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 18, with many discoveries ahead of her, Cari began her travels east to Boston Massachusetts where she studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

With singing her main source of inspiration, Cari became further inspired by sign language, until her heart was awakened by yoga which appeared quite magically when she began as a student under Max Strom in Los Angeles.

Interest in the study of the body lead Cari to study massage, that gave her the knowledge of biomechanics and the importance of alignment within the body.

After several years of personal exploration Cari was lead to teaching yoga, inspired to bring the awakening that had occurred within her to others. Her style of teaching is vinyasa flow with specific emphasis on the alignment of the body in order to prevent injuries so common in yoga.

Receiving her teacher training certificate in Anyusara yoga with Max Strom in Los Angeles, Cari brings the beautiful energy of that community to New York. Cari is forever grateful to all of her teachers and the opportunity to follow her heart and share the many gifts of yoga.
