Cass Burns
Cassandra's lifetime of athleticism and quest for truth came to a harmonious union when yoga discovered her at the age of nineteen. As her practice deepened over time, the desire to pass on the knowledge of yoga grew stronger. With the decision to pursue yoga as a way of living and the support of friends, family, and teachers, Cass decided to move to NY in 2005 and soon after completed her first teacher training at Yoga Works, in which she learned the basics of anatomy, movement, philosophy, meditation, etc. Through Yoga Works, Cass was introduced to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and studied directly under Guy Donahaye and Lori Brungard of Ashtanga Yoga Shala in a much more hands-on approach to the yoga practice as a student and teacher. Expanding her knowledge of the human energy systems through her exploration of Thai Massage further instilled the importance of working in direct contact with students to progregrss in the practice of yoga and also aide in the release of blockages. Cass has been so fortunate to have found her life's work ahead- to share a beautiful, rigorous, and powerful, eastern tradition in a western world, and she would like to give thanks to all of her teachers along the way who helped make this possible!
